Got my boot today. I can walk again. It is heavy so I will be strengthening my leg. What has this change in my body meant to me? I have to slow down, take in every moment, love people, and that they may be going thru hardships we can't even imagine. I pray for u, me and others. I am watching over u thru the words u share about how u r doing. And encouraging u too.

An odd statement, I agree. Your friend probably meant well, but it's not a terribly comforting comment🫤 I'll just pray for improvement every day.🤗

I'm back! I'm so glad to see you're taking baby steps toward healing. During the pandemic I suffered multiple back fractures and was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis and scoliosis. I declined the "cement" surgery and told all those people with doctorate degrees I'll heal on my own. Being attached to a back brace and sleeping in a recliner on pain killers for two years gave me opportunity to discover your books. I have a tendency to get "wordy", so I'll keep this simple. I have a close personal relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I'm pretty sure the Son carried the only cross that mattered so we don't have to carry one. I understand the analogy, but if we're talking analogies, then we Christians are generally carrying large, medium, small and sometimes tiny crosses almost every day. I've had about five or six weighing me down for years now. One will eventually drop off. It could be a large replaced by two tinies or any other combination. Life is a constant battle. It's how we individually fight that gets us through. There's an old response that many of us Southern born and bred kids grew up hearing whenever we complained about a disappointment, ache or an injury. "Well, ya ain't dead, are ya?!!". That taught us to realize, we just have to make the best of any situation, and keep living ...one day, step, breath and heart beat at a time. Thankful I "ain't dead"!!

How about: "Shit happens. And it starts from the family you are born into: the genetics you inherit, the circumstances of their lives and yours, how they cope, and what they pass on." Some people pass on the negative things that they encounter and endure, others learn from them and make the world a better place because of it. I think you are in the latter category.
