Hi loves.
I hope everything is going well at your house and that you are staying cool!
I have almost finished the first draft of the new book, months ahead of schedule. I still have some bits and bobs to add that are in my notes. Only three more drafts to go! Then I have to find a new literary agent (mine retired) and then (fingers crossed) line up a publisher who wants to buy it. I have a sense of urgency because, well, I am 66 and I am not getting any younger, as they say.
I just returned from a working vacation last Friday and took yesterday off to unpack and go to the grocery store…plus the battery in my car had died while I was away. So stuff to handle, as always. But I will be back in my writing chair after I finish this Substack.
Thank you so much to those of you who have checked in on me! I have the sweetest readers in the world.

A friend of mine texted me a couple of weeks ago and asked if I wanted to go to the beach. She was was taking her 12 year old granddaughter who had never seen the ocean and very generously offered to pay for the hotel. So the only thing stopping me was writing this book. I decided to try a working vacation. It worked! I got a tremendous amount of writing done. Usually I wrote from a comfy chair in the hotel lobby. Or from a beautiful spot in the breakfast area.
It is amazing how nice and inspiring it is to have a different view for a while.
I apologize for not being in touch while I was away. But I wanted to send this postcard.
Love you!
Susan
Absolutely loved seeing recent picture of you and your precious pup. And here's to generous friends.
Susan, no apologies necessary, I’m so glad you got time away to recharge and by the ocean, I’m just a little bit jealous 😄
