Southern Porches

We have them in abundance. We love them our entire lives.

I’m doing a summer series on Southern porches on my Facebook Author page ( Susan Gabriel, Author) right now. I’ve got 26,000 followers and they are quite a lovely group. I think you’d like them. Please go over and check it out. I’m also talking about my writing schedule these days, so if you want to know what I’m up to, I’ll be reporting in there.

So far this week, I’ve had two days where I wrote for three hours. That’s good for me. You can write and finish a book in three hours a day. I hope to keep it up! It helps that it’s so hot I can’t stand to be on my little porch. I usually have a question to go with the porch series.

Before my stroke, I had written a hundred pages of book one of the new series. I’ve got a very long way to go, but at least I’m writing again. I get lots of encouragement on the Author page, which I am very grateful for.

If you could sit on this porch with anyone, living or dead, who would you want to sit with, and what would you have a conversation about?

I would want to apologize to my mother for not showing up when she was dying with breast cancer.

If I could sit on that porch and speak to my mother, I would ask for her forgiveness for being a ‘little shit’ and not showing up when she had cancer. I was a coward and I’m not the least bit proud of it
