Hi my friends.
My first floor apartment will be ready in July. My move-in date is Monday, July 8th. My new place is 2 hours and 15 minutes away. I am excited.
I’m not entirely sure what I’ll be doing for the next month, except write. I have been writing at Barnes & Noble every morning for a couple of hours until I go home for lunch. It is a nice ritual and distracts me from playing the waiting game. It also helps me stay grounded.
I look forward to finding new writing places in Greenville, South Carolina.
At some point, I will also go spend the day in Knoxville to see the daughters and my son-in-law before I move a little farther away.
I am totally packed. Boxes are everywhere. The name of my mover is Daniel. When he gave me an estimate, he said, “Easy-peasy Mac and cheesy,” as his granddaughter likes to say. I’m all for ‘easy-peasy’ after the last few difficult years.
Send good thoughts on July 8th if you have them. And I hope you have an adventure planned of some type this summer. Having a good adventure reminds us that we are still alive and kicking. We humans love novelty and need a good dose of it every now and again. A new place. New people. New possibilities.
I like to think that is also why some people love to read my novels! It gives them a new adventure and helps them understand new points of view, new characters, and builds empathy.
Love you!
Susan
P.S.
Writing and Journaling Prompts:
Write a story from the perspective of a sock being separated from its twin in the laundry.
You are walking through a field with your best friend.. you spot a flower and pick it up.. it gives you super powers…what happens next.
A stranger comes to the door but looks oddly familiar. What confession does she or he make?
Write about a time when everything changed.
Wishing you well with your July move! Always a new adventure waiting to happen! 😊💝
