My dear, dear friends. Life has delivered some unexpected news, as life is known to do.
Last Sunday morning i had a stroke. I could sense it was happening, as the left side of my body suddenly took a holiday. I fell on the way to my bathroom and slid down the wall after having grabbed my phone thinking I may need it to call for help. Smart move .
At the emergency room the MRI showed evidence of 4 or 5 ministrokes in the past several years, which were news to me.
I waited on the floor for 911 to arrive. We are in new territory—Rocky and I. Uncharted, as they say. Rocky stayed by my side, his head in my lap until I left in the ambulance. He still doesn’t know where I went.
Since then, I have had every test invented for stroke survivors. I go to rehab for the next two weeks. It is only when I can walk again that they will release me. Then I will have a reunion with my little pup who is staying with my neighbor
I have a difficult time ahead and I really need your prayers. I have experienced pt here in the hospital and it is brutal. I am starting over. It is easy to get discouraged
I can’t walk right now or use my left hand to hold onto a walker. I can’t make a fist or hold myself upright. So I need your prayers to get home. Give me strength, perseverance. Pray for anything you want I will accept it
I will keep you posted how it is going. But probably not more than once a week. Meanwhile, here is my address if you want to write. 7112 High Peak Drive. Greenville, SC 29609.
Love you!
Susan
I am so sorry to hear about your stroke. Prayers of recovery lift up.
I'm so sorry to hear this. As a nurse, I know this is a tough journey ahead of you but praying for a full recovery in your not too distant future.
