Dear Mama,
Letters from home #2
Cecil took me and his little sister, Josie, to the movie in town last weekend. We saw a Walt Disney film—The Seven Dwarfs. It was beautifully animated. Josie held my hand through most of it, squeezing my fingers whenever the wicked Queen made an appearance.
Dopey reminds me of Cecil, with his big ears, but I didn’t make a big deal of it because he is a tad sensitive. Josie made a joke saying his ears were much larger than Dopey’s. Josie can get away with anything with Cecil.
The three is us laughed so hard at Josie’s comment that we held our stomachs and Cherry Coke threatened to come out of my nose.
I love that Cecil can laugh at himself. We humans are a mixture of blessings and curses, comedy and tragedy, as Daddy used to say. Daddy always had interesting ways of saying things even though he only had a fifth grade education.
Mama, you remind me of Snow White, except you had light brown hair. I was always so proud of you whenever you came to school because you were the prettiest mom there. Cecil told me the other day that I look just like you, which made me blush making me just like the dwarf Bashful. What dwarf are you the most like?
Snow White soon learns that the cottage is the home of seven dwarfs named Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey, who work in a nearby mine.
